Moses Cone hospital has embarked on its first true ILPD project with a multiparty contract for their Women's Hospital Expansion project. Placing all major project contributors under a single contract with everyone's profit dependent on project success has fostered an environment that is producing that success. This process has created an environment where everyone is truly pulling in the same direction.

This session will present a brief overview of the project, but will primarily focus on the strategies utilized to manage cost, make and document decisions, and track progress. We will present both successful and unsuccessful strategies.

We will leave participants with a better understanding of why (or why not) an IPD contract would be an appropriate cultural fit for their organization. The lessons learned and tools shared will be applicable for all projects, regardless of whether they are IPD or more traditional.

Learning Objectives:

  • Fully identify the strengths and weaknesses of a True IPD Contracting Method
  • Evaluate whether or not true IPD will be a cultural fit for your organization on future projects
  • Explain cost and time-saving strategies successfully (and unsuccessfully) utilized to meet cost and schedule goals
  • Develop the ability to think beyond traditional comfort zones of project delivery
