Tuesday, July 16, 2019 Speakers: Dennis Ford, Mike Mango and Tyler Greenwood The Joint Commission is focusing on the certification process for pharmacy sterile compounding clean rooms in 2018-2019 surveys. The Central Division of Atrium Health was surveyed in 2018 and conducted a multidisciplinary review of requirements, roles, and responsibilities around clean rooms. This session presents a resulting road map to developing a program for continual certification.

The session will also discuss in detail the advantages, disadvantages, and appropriateness of the different types of locking arrangements as well as the most common design/installation mistakes associated with each type of arrangement.

Recorded August 10, 2016 The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has adopted the 2012 edition of NFPA 101. The 2012 edition contains a new chapter on rehabilitation projects in existing buildings. Chapter 43 covers repairs, renovations, modifications, reconstruction, change of use, and change of occupancy classification projects. With the amount of work that goes on in existing hospitals and other health care facilities, one needs to have a thorough understanding of the impact that Chapter 43 will have on such projects.
